So you’ve lost a tooth. Or maybe you’ve lost several teeth. This can be distressing at best, and  devastating at worst. Losing teeth can make you feel shameful and embarrassed. It can hinder your ability to chew, making it difficult to eat the healthy foods that you need to nourish your body.

That’s why I’ve made dental implants my specialty. I love seeing the transformations of my patients, both physically and emotionally. Confidence in your smile is something everyone deserves. Read on to learn about how dental implants work.

Bone Grafting

After your damage tooth has been removed, the jaw bone at that site may begin to deteriorate. The longer you wait to get the implant, the more that bone will deteriorate and lose its strength. That’s why it’s best to get your dental implant sooner rather than later.

Don’t worry though, it’s never too late to get the implant that you need. Bone grafting is a simple procedure, and the benefits are a strong sturdy surface in which to place your implant.

First I make a small incision where the grafting is to take place, using a local anesthetic. Then I place the grafting material next to your natural bone, as well as a protective coating to stabilize the area. Lastly I suture the area. Most patients take 3-6 months to heal, and I will monitor this carefully to ensure all is going as it should. Then you’ll be ready for the implant!

Single Tooth Implants

If you’re only replacing one tooth with an implant, the process is especially simple. In many cases I can do same day implants! For those with severe anxiety about the procedure, I specialize in sedation dentistry. This ensures that the process will be as relaxing and stress free as possible. I’ve even had patients compare my office to a spa!

We will insert a post into your reinforced jaw bone (assuming you’ve had bone grafting), and then attach the tooth. It’s that simple! Dental implants are a great option compared to a bridge because it’s permanent, and it only involves fixing that one missing space. If you opt for a bridge, you’ve turning a single tooth issue into a three teeth issue.

Dental implants look and feel like natural teeth. They rarely fail, they have a 99% success rate! If you’re just missing one tooth, a dental implant is a simple solution that will last you a lifetime.

Full Mouth Implants

Many of my patients have been wearing dentures for years. A lot have them come to me having been told that they are not candidates for dental implants. That is simply not the case in my practice. I have made it my life mission to provide a working set of teeth to anyone who wants them.

I have advanced training in bone grafting and bone reinforcing techniques so that I can place implants in just about any situation. Using advanced healing technologies I can make the process as painless and quick as possible. No one should have to live without a working set of teeth. I’ve provided that to countless patients who had been living with dentures for decades!
