I’ve chosen to build my dental practice around dental implants. Pursing the highest credentials in dental implant care by becoming a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral Implantology has allowed me to become a top Specialist in Dental Implants in the greater Bay Area. As part of that, I’ve invested heavily in the latest technology for dental implants.

What does this mean to you as a patient?

It means not only will you have a clinician with excellent skills, you’ll also have the support of the best technology on the market to ensure you have a successful dental implant procedure. Not every provider of dental implants has access to this level of technology – it’s unique in my practice. I’ve invested heavily in these machines to give my patients the best experience with their dental implant procedures.

Keep reading to find out more about the specific technology I use in my office to provide the most accurate diagnosis and treatment with dental implants. Whether you’re getting a single tooth replaced, or swapping out your removable dentures for permanent implant supported dentures, you’ll get the best outcome with the technology in my practice.

3-D Imaging for Dental Implants

One of the most exciting technologies I offer in my practice is Cone Beam (CBCT) imaging. The reason this is so important to a successful implant placement is that it’s the highest quality and most detailed imaging of your dental anatomy.

I can determine your bone density readings to discover the best spot to place your implant so that it stays stable, hopefully for the rest of your life! I can also clearly see the bone healing and overall health of the bone during your healing phase. This is how we determine that your implant is settling correctly within your jawbone. Additionally, I can view vital nerve structures so that we can place the implant in the most comfortable place in your bone.

Traditional 2-D x-rays don’t provide this level of detail of your anatomy. The CBCT gives me the most detailed picture of your dental structures so that I can place your implant in the optimal spot for long term stability and comfort.

iTero Trios Systems Digital Imaging for Dental Implants

Another great technology I’ve invested in is the iTero Trios Systems. This allows me to digitally scan patients instead of using traditional impressions. The old putty impressions were not only unpleasant for some patients with gag reflexes – as many teeth I replace are in the back of the mouth – they were also prone to human error and inaccuracies. Nothing compares to the sharp detail I get from a digital scanner.

This allows me to provide a more accurate fit for patients when I’m in the final phase of restoring their dental implant. This system also allows me to use a 3-D planning process as I can digitize my patient’s teeth and jaw. I can plan out the whole procedure, and precisely place the implants based on where the crown needs to be.

Combining this technology with the CBCT allows me to have a full digital workflow, and plan every stage of the dental implant to customize it for the unique, specific structures in each patient’s mouth. It gives me the most accurate digital picture to optimize both the placement and restoration of dental implants.

Osstell System for Dental Implant Stability

The cutting edge Osstell System that I use in my practice is very unique among implant providers. This allows me to verify the implant stability and integration using a sophisticated residence system to get a readout of the implant stability.

Osseointegration is a big word that means how your natural bone structure is integrating the implant in your jawbone. We essentially want the 2 to become 1, and that allows your implant to remain stable in your mouth. This is an important part of having a healthy dental implant for life. I always want to give my patients the highest rate of success for their dental implants.

The Osstell system allows me to objectively – without human error – and non-invasively assess your implant stability and the process of your bone accepting the implant, without interfering in your healing process. This technology enables me to give my patients the best possible outcome for long term stability of their dental implants.

Why Technology Matters

My practice is unique in offering these 3 outstanding technologies for our dental implant patients. I’ve invested in this equipment to give my patients the highest success rate and best experience during their dental implant process. Combining this digital accuracy with my skill level means that my patients will have a strong dental implant for life.

Thank You, for information on the most current technology in implant dentistry! I am in Pennsylvania and I was told today that I don’t have enough bone above the nerve channel for an implant to work. The oral surgeon explained that he needed to make a 10mm deep hole for an 8mm long implant, and that would be too close to my nerve channel. I’m reading this evening that there are implants requiring only 3-5mm. I’m specifically talking about #19 molar in MY mouth, and I’m also missing #18 from many years ago. Any suggestions on how the latest technology might help me out? Thank You!!

Thanks for your comment! If you ever find yourself in the San Francisco Bay Area, please check out my practice for your treatment – we often have patients who travel from other parts of the country to get their dental treatment here. I can’t diagnose you without seeing your case, but I would advise obtaining multiple opinions as different doctors have different approaches and tools. Good luck and please let us know if we can ever help!
